makes 3 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries

  • 1 cup high proof (80+) vodka

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

  • 2 Tbsp cranberry-pear white balsamic

Directions

  1. Place cranberries in food processor or blender with vodka and puree. Add to air-tight container and let sit on counter overnight.

  2. Move to fridge and allow to steep for another 2 days (or up to 1 week). Each day, stir or shake contents of container and return to fridge. At end of steeping time, remove from fridge and strain liquid into a Mason jar through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Discard solids.

  3. In a small saucepan, add sugar, 1/2 cup water and balsamic vinegar. Stir over a medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

  4. Add sugar syrup to Mason jar and stir well. Keep in fridge for up to 3 months.

To Use: Add a tablespoon to gin and tonic, champagne, or other cocktails for a cranberry twist. Or, use in place of simple syrup or sugar in your favorite cocktail recipes. Can be used in homemade cough syrups or as cordials.
